How do you make a good choice when faced with a difficult decision?

As we have learned this year in DARE, there are many different elements that go into decision making. When we make a decision we must think about the unforeseen consequences that may occur as a result of our choices. We must also think about others and how our decisions may affect them.

In our latest novel, My Brother Same is Dead, we are learning about the difficult choices that are required of people during the Revolutionary War.

Question to blog about:

When presented with difficult choices, how do you decide what to do?

  1. You should list your choices and pick the one you think is right. As in the novel, "My Brother Sam Is Dead", Tim does not know which side to choose but he may eventually be able to choose what he thinks is the right decision.

  2. Gianna,
When I am faced with difficult choises this is what I do. I first would think of all my choices. Second I would think of all the cosquences. Finally, I make my choice and I hope I made a great one!

  3. Ben,
When I am faced with a difficult decision i think it out thoroughly. I have to define the situation and make the proper decision. For example, if i have the choice of going to the park or doing my homework what should i do. Well, if i go to the park i wouldn't finish my homework and i would be in trouble. So the obvious and smart decision would be to finish my homework and then go to the park.

If I had to make a good choice in a difficult decision I would talk to my parents about it. But if they were under the influence of smoking, drug, or alcohol then I would talk to an older sister or brother, but if they were for some reason under the influence of smoking, drugs, or alcohol then I would finally talk to friend. In conclusion the best people to talk to about decisions are your parents because they are older, smarter, and know you.
